Der schwere Störfall im japanischen Atomkraftwerk in Fukushima hat die Diskussion um nachhaltige Energiegewinnung entfacht. Aber auch ohne Kernenergie sind viele industrielle Fertigungsprozesse mit erheblichen Risiken für Mensch und Umwelt verbunden. Die schweren Chemieunfälle in Bhopal und Seveso, der Untergang des Öltankers Exxon Valdez und die Explosion der Ölplattform Deepwater Horizon im Golf von Mexiko sind nur einige Beispiele. Will man auf gefährliche Herstellungsprozesse nicht verzichten, sind funktionierende Frühwarnsysteme und Notfallpläne unerlässlich, um schwere Unfälle zu vermeiden.
Unsere heutige Liste bietet Ihnen Literaturhinweise zum Risikomanagement und zur Öffentlichkeitsarbeit während und nach einem Zwischenfall. Für die japanische Betreibergesellschaft Tepco kommen Überlegungen zum Risikomanagement möglicherweise zu spät: sie musste staatliche Hilfe erbitten.
